喼汁的英文叫Worcester Shire Sauce(不知道中文是不是應該譯成伍斯特郡汁),譯名源自catsup,cat是貓貓,sup是啜,就是味道好,吃的人像貓啜一樣,很早以前從英國引入香港,然後傳入廣州,“喼”還是專門為這種調味品發明的粵語方言,傳統的廣東人一定都知道這種調味料。喼汁的味道有點像醋,可是比醋好吃。
浙醋,又稱大紅浙醋,是一種起源於中國浙江的食醋,色澤紅潤。浙醋是使用糯米釀制,並加入了紅米麴增添色彩。不少人在吃魚翅羹時,都會加入少許浙醋中和魚翅的腥味。另外香港人亦有在小籠包、鍋貼、蛇羮、碗仔翅等加入浙醋調味。
